Letter of Welcome
I am
delighted to welcome you to St.Patrick’s School and hope that
your association with the school will be long and happy.
We have
declared that our mission is “ to follow the loving example
shown by Jesus Christ” and this is at the heart of all that we
say and do. For this to become a reality, we believe that there
must be a partnership between home, school and Parishes and we
aim to involve all members of this partnership at all times.
Thus we have strong links with our feeder Parishes and the
Parish priests are regular visitors.
St.Patrick’s
is a friendly, family school where children and parents are
welcomed. We are also blessed with a highly experienced and
dedicated staff who work extremely hard to provide a stimulating
and disciplined atmosphere, within which successful learning can
take place. In the spirit of our mission statement, we aim to
value and encourage all and strive to meet the needs of every
individual.
As a
Voluntary Aided school, St.Patrick’s comes under the control of
the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth, and the Bishop
appoints Foundation Governors who, alongside LEA, staff and
parent governors, take responsibility for ensuring that the
school is run efficiently and, most importantly, that the
Catholic ethos of the school is preserved. In addition, the
Governing Body is responsible for considering all admissions to
the school, employing staff and maintaining the school building
and grounds.
We also
enjoy the support of Southampton LEA and we work in close
partnership with the officers of the local authority to ensure
the highest educational standards for all the children.
I am sure
that you will find this prospectus informative but if it leaves
you with any further questions, then please do not hesitate to
contact me at the school and I will endeavour to answer them.
If you would like to visit the school, please contact the office
to make an appointment.
With best
wishes,
Ms Elizabeth Kenny
Headteacher
